Un viaje por el tiempo: Juegos Olímpicos III

¡Hola curiosos!

Aquí tenéis el último post en este repaso por los años olímpicos. Unos años difíciles y marcados por sucesos trágicos. La política se hace notar y los percances no son pocos. Atento curioso, vamos a Tokio:

• Tokio 1964. Denominados los “Juegos perfectos”. El voleibol fue la primera disciplina en la que jugaron las mujeres.

• México 1968.Se produjeron dos hechos deportivos de consecuencias futuras importantes: el “vuelo” de Bob Beamon hasta los 8,90 metros y el uso de la técnica “flop” por parte de Dick Fosbury. Reivindicación de los afroamericanos de los EEUU, pertenecientes al “Black Power”, en el podio.

• Munich 1972. Se produjo la mayor tragedia en la historia del Olimpismo: terroristas del grupo “Septiembre Negro” secuestraron a varios componentes del equipo israelí. La situación se saldó con 10 deportistas, 5 terroristas y un policía muertos. Los Juegos estuvieron a punto de ser suspendidos.

• Montreal 1976. Se empieza a controlar el consumo de sustancias dopantes. Países africanos e Irak no quisieron participar por la presencia de Nueva Zelanda (motivos de racismo y demás). Españoles destacados se consideran a Antonio Goróstegui Ceballos y Pedro Luis Millet Soler, quines consiguieron la plata en Vela en la Clase 470. A su vez, , en piragüismo, Esteban Celorrio, López Díaz-Flor, Menéndez Rodríguez y Ramos Misioné  se hicieron con otro segundo lugar en  K4 1.000 metros

• Moscú 1980 y  Los Ángeles 1984. Supusieron dos caras de la misma moneda: la utilización de los Juegos como instrumento de represalia política. En Moscú se negaron a participar los países del bloque occidental  y en los Ángeles, como respuesta, fueron los del bloque oriental los que no participaron.

• Seúl 1988. Se readmite el tenis y se permite ser jugado por profesionales tras 60años. La participación fue altísima (9000 deportistas).

• Barcelona 1992. Supusieron un inmenso éxito de organización y gestión, con las más creativas e imaginativas ceremonias de inauguración y clausura de la historia de los Juegos. Fruto, en gran medida, del plan ADO, los deportistas españoles obtuvieron la mayor cosecha de premios de su historia olímpica: 22 medallas, 13 oros, 7 platas y 3 bronces.

• Atlanta 1996. Un atentado terrorista vuelve a marcar unos JJOO. Un terrorista puso una mochila bomba en un lugar cercano a la Villa Olímpica. El terrible percance se saldó con dos muertos y numerosos heridos. En lo que a deporte se refiere, el encuentro fue un éxito. 79 fueron los países que consiguieron llevarse medalla. Los españoles siguieron con la racha de Barcelona y se llevaron 17medallas los deportistas.

• Sydney 2000. Las instalaciones en esta ocasiones fueron dignoas de admiración, de hecho se consideran de los mejores de la historia. Además cabe recalcar que parte del grupo de diseñadores fueron miembros de greenpace, para que el impacto en el medio ambiente fuese el mínimo.

• Atenas 2004. Se produjo la mayor participación de deportistas femeninas españolas: 139, por 182 deportistas masculinos.

Here is the last post in this review by Olympic years. A few years difficult and marked by tragic events. The politic notes and mishaps are not few. Curious pay atention, Go to Tokyo:

• Tokyo 1964. Called the "Perfect Game". Volleyball was the first sport in which women played.

• Barcelona 1992. They assumed an immense success of organization and management, with the most creative and imaginative opening and closing ceremonies of the history of the Games. • Athens 2004. There was greater participation of Spanish female athletes: 139, 182 male athletes.
